Brother Spencer,
Thank you for this Alumni Blog. We were at Southland for 2+ years before we moved to Calvary
Baptist Bible College in King, NC so that my husband Todd could train under his father-in-law, Pastor James Brown at Vernon Forest Baptist Church. After graduating in May, 2010, God led us back to South Portsmouth, KY to plant the New Grace Baptist Church. We were able to re-open the doors of an old church building where Todd's great-grandfather preached 50 years ago. With love and support and help from churches and people across the country, we were able to "renovate" the building. We had our kickoff service on August 27, 2010. On November 21, 2010, we broke our attendance record with 34 in attendance on Sunday morning. We have also seen 12 children come to know the Lord as Savior in November! We have many bus kids coming and God has provided us a church van to pick them up! Praise the Lord! Now that we are back in the area, we would like to stay involved on what God is doing at Southland Bible Institute. We would also be interested in inviting a "preacher boy" to come and help out some time! So, please keep the New Grace Baptist church plant in South Portsmouth, Kentucky and the Todd Lockyer family in your prayers.
They included some pictures---this will help you pray in a more personal and effective manner.
